Getting flat abs has more to do with losing your excess belly fat than it is with working on your ab muscles. Since the fat is closer to the skin that the muscle tissue, as long as you have excess belly fat, you will not have flat, firm abs no matter how powerful they are.
Say you want to get rid of belly fat in 2 weeks. What do you need to do?
Before I give you some tips, let me just say that I can't guarantee you'll lose all of your belly fat in just 2 weeks. No one can know this for sure. What I can say is that I am sure that you can get excellent results by following these tips and that your stomach will be flatter for doing so.
Tip #1 - focus on your big muscle groups
When you go to the gym (or workout at home) you need to put in the most time and effort on the big muscle groups. I'm talking about your back, chest, and legs. The reason is simple: the more muscle mass you have anywhere on your body, the easier it gets to burn calories and fat. It's easier to build more muscle mass where there's room for it to grow which is in your big muscle groups.
Tip #2 - Be Active Be Active Be Active
The reason why I repeated this tip 3 times is to make sure you actually take action and not just read it and continue on. You want to burn the most calories and fat. It's crucial that you make use of your entire day for that purpose, not just the time you workout. Being more active in your day to day routine can prove extremely beneficial. You will burn a lot more calories that way, naturally.
Tip #3 - It's what you eat
Getting rid of belly fat is first and foremost making sure you don't add more fat to your abs. To do that, make sure that you eat only what you need to and what you have to. You can and should enjoy yourself. However, choose your pleasures carefully. Who said that you need chocolate to feel good? A nice piece of fruit can have the same effect. It takes some getting used to but it can definitely work and will make you feel much better.
Since I can't go into each and every food that you may or may not eat, I tell you this: just by giving what you eat some thought you will make better decisions.
Tip #4 - Do intensive cardio
Cardio is often overrated as a fat loss method mostly because most people do it wrong. A lot of people look on cardio as a chore. They do it to get it over, to pass the time.
You need to push your body when you're doing cardio to get real results. Make sure your workouts are intensive and you will see results.
